A 501(c)(3) opening study abroad to more students, est. 2024

Study abroad, for the students who weren't sure.

We open the door for first-time travelers, and we stand beside them long after the trip ends, so the first time is the beginning, not the only time.

Built for the next ones.

Ariana McAuley, Founder and Executive Director Our work walks with students at three thresholds, before they go, while they're there, and after they come home, so the first trip turns into a lifetime of going back.
What we do

Three pathways, one mission

We don't run trips. We make sure the students who weren't sure show up prepared, supported, and equipped to keep going back. Funding, preparation, and people who get it.

01

The ACM Fellowship

Ambrose Conrad McAuley Fellowship

Direct funding for Black American graduate students pursuing study abroad. Named for who it serves, not what we want to call ourselves.

02

Global Ready Workshops

Pre-departure preparation

Cultural readiness, money abroad, the host-program questions no one tells you to ask. The prep that turns funded students into prepared ones.

03

Mentorship

Walking with, before and after

Pairing fellows with people who've stood at the same threshold. Mentorship that lasts past the flight home, because the second trip is the one that matters.

A fellow, in their own words
"I am living my ancestors' wildest dreams. I'm earning a degree no one can take from me, in a country so unlike my own, and I've found a calm here I didn't know I needed."

Where the money goes

Our impact, in numbers

Small on purpose. We've kept the fellowship cohorts tight so we can name every student we send and show donors exactly where their dollars landed. Growth comes after proof, not before it.

We don't promise outcomes we can't show. Reporting goes out every quarter to donors and partners.

The case for support

Most American students who study abroad never go back.

Your support means the next generation of American travelers don't stop at one trip. Funding goes directly to a named fellow, and you'll meet them.

Postcard $25 / mo Sustain the workshops. Quarterly notes from a fellow you helped prepare.
Atlas Circle $1,500 Underwrite a fellowship cohort. Annual cohort dinner with the fellows.
Passport $10,000+ Name a fellowship year. The fellow you fund will know your name.
The Ariventures Abroad newsletter

One story per send. Pick a pillar, then read.

No roundups. No "we're excited to share." One real moment from the field, signed by a named person, with one thing you can do at the bottom.
