Ambrose Conrad McAuley (ACM) Fellowship

Financial Support, Mentorship, and Global Leadership for graduate students studying abroad

The Ambrose Conrad McAuley (ACM) Global Fellowship supports Black American graduate students pursuing degrees abroad. Designed to remove financial, social, and cultural barriers, the fellowship fosters leadership and global readiness through a strong cohort experience.​

  • Be Black American
  • Be enrolled or accepted into graduate program abroad (Master’s or Ph.D.)
  • Be actively engaged in making a positive impact through community service, leadership roles, extracurricular activities, or similar
  • Be in need of financial support to fund their program abroad
  • Up to $2,000 in funding

  • One-on-one mentorship

  • Access to a virtual and in-person workshop retreat

  • Ongoing community support

  • Participate in a mentorship program for undergraduates

  • Create blog posts or video reflections

  • Participate in at least one interview or promotional spotlight

  • Completed application form

  • Proof of graduate program acceptance

  • Resume or CV

  • Personal statement  on leadership, purpose, and global goals

  • Optional Video Submission: Post a 1–2 minute video on social media sharing why you should be selected. Tag @AriventuresAbroad and use #ACMFellowship2025

  • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis through August 1, 2025

  • Finalists are selected based on purpose, leadership, impact, and clarity

  • Review panel includes Ariventures Board and previous Fellows

  • Fellows announced August 26, 2025

Awards will be disbursed for the 25 - 26 semesters in September 2025

While the ACM Fellowship is specifically for Black American graduate students pursuing degrees abroad, our commitment to expanding access to global education goes far beyond that.

If you’re not eligible for the fellowship, we still offer personalized support to help you fund and plan your international experience. Through our Global Ready Workshop Series, one-on-one consultations, and curated resource guides, we help students from all backgrounds:

  • Find scholarships, grants, and alternative funding sources

  • Navigate financial planning for study abroad or graduate school overseas

  • Understand cost of living, currency exchange, and budgeting in a new country

  • Explore paid research, internship, and assistantship opportunities abroad
