Skills You Live, Not Learn

Transforming Students Into Global Leaders

Ariventures Abroad creates fellowships and workshops that develop the intercultural competence, adaptability, and global perspective that can’t be taught—only experienced. Every dollar invested unlocks career-defining opportunities for students who need them most.

This just isn't a partnership, it's a movement.

When you partner with Ariventures Abroad, you’re doing more than writing a check, you’re fueling a movement. Your support powers fellowships, global-ready workshops, and sustainability programs that open doors for brilliant students and emerging leaders, many of whom are the first in their families or communities to study, work, or travel internationally.

In service of this vision, we create fellowships for graduate students, equip students through transformative workshops, and promote sustainable travel that strengthens communities and cultures.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions we hear most often from university administrators, faculty, and international office staff.

What is the financial commitment for university partnerships? +

Partnership investment varies based on the level of engagement you choose. Our Awareness Partners start at $2,500 annually (basic visibility and access). Pipeline Partners invest $5,000-$10,000 (priority recruitment access). Strategic Partners range from $15,000-$25,000 (co-branded programs and dedicated support). Founding Partners are custom-designed multi-year commitments starting at $50,000. All funds directly support fellowship programming, fellow stipends, and program operations. We're happy to discuss payment schedules and in-kind contributions.

How do university partnerships benefit our students and recruitment goals? +

Partner universities gain direct access to a vetted pipeline of high-achieving African students interested in studying abroad. Your institution receives priority recruitment opportunities, early access to fellow profiles, and the ability to host fellows for campus visits or speaking engagements. Past partners have successfully recruited fellows into graduate programs, invited fellows to speak in classes about their community work, and strengthened their institution's global engagement reputation. Fellows become ambassadors for your university within their networks across Africa.

Can we create a custom partnership that fits our institution's unique needs? +

Absolutely. While we offer four standard partnership tiers as starting points, we regularly customize partnerships to align with specific institutional priorities. Examples include: hosting fellows for semester-long research projects, co-creating curriculum for international development courses, establishing named fellowships tied to your university, developing joint programming between your students and our fellows, or creating pipeline programs for specific graduate schools or departments. Every partnership begins with a discovery conversation to understand your goals.

What kind of involvement is required from our university staff? +

Involvement level is flexible and based on your capacity. At minimum, we coordinate with one primary contact (typically from international programs, admissions, or student affairs) for quarterly updates and partnership planning. More engaged partners may involve faculty for mentorship, host fellows for campus visits, participate in virtual panels, or collaborate on joint events. We handle all logistics, communication with fellows, and administrative coordination. Most partners report spending 2-5 hours per quarter on partnership activities, with additional time optional based on interest.

How do you measure partnership impact and success? +

We provide partners with quarterly updates and annual impact reports that include: number of fellows engaged with your institution, recruitment outcomes (applications, acceptances, enrollments), visibility metrics (website traffic, social media reach, event attendance), qualitative feedback from fellows about their experience with your university, and partnership activity summary (events, mentorship hours, collaborative projects). We also schedule annual partnership review meetings to discuss what's working, gather your feedback, and plan improvements for the following year.

What is the typical partnership commitment period? +

Most partnerships begin with a one-year commitment to allow both parties to assess fit and impact. After the first year, many partners renew annually or transition to multi-year agreements (2-3 years) for deeper collaboration and planning continuity. Founding Partners typically commit to 3-5 year partnerships with defined milestones. All partnership agreements include clear terms for renewal, modification, or conclusion. We believe strong partnerships are built over time and welcome both institutions looking to start small and those ready for long-term strategic collaboration.

Do you work with universities outside the United States? +

Yes. Our fellows have studied at universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Costa Rica, Egypt, and Italy. We welcome partnerships with institutions worldwide that share our commitment to developing Africa's next generation of social impact leaders. Our current partner and fellow universities include institutions in the UK (Queen's University Belfast, Guildford School of Acting), Costa Rica (University for Peace), and Egypt (American University in Cairo). International partnerships may involve different logistics, but the core partnership structure and benefits remain consistent.

How is Ariventures Abroad different from other fellowship or scholarship programs? +

Unlike traditional scholarship programs that simply provide funding, we offer holistic support throughout the entire fellowship journey: pre-departure preparation, ongoing mentorship during studies, crisis support when needed, and post-fellowship career guidance. Our fellows are community-based social entrepreneurs who return home to apply their learning (not seeking to emigrate). We have a 100% fellowship completion rate and maintain relationships with fellows long after their programs end. For university partners, this means engaging with highly motivated, supported students who bring real-world experience and are positioned to succeed academically and professionally.
